I recently hooked up with a girl that i had just met a few days before. We had been hanging out some on a trip and one thing led to another. Well she gave me her number and told me she really wants me to call her. I do not want a relatonship right now b/c i am emotionally tired from the last one. I also am not completely over my ex but i am getting there. I dont think its fair to the other person if you are still battling feelings over your ex while at the same time trying to date them.
They should be doing everything you need to bring you back, to at least, the table to see what further help, or things you need to put the relationship back on track.
This seems like manipulation to me. I have made myself exclusive w/guys early on, but I have never used that tactic and neither have they. I don't like being manipulated into anything. When dating the guy before my bf, he pretty much pushed me into a relationship, it felt forced and I stupidly went w/it. When I met my bf, I did see a couple guys for 1st dates (no sex) afterwards, but I never told him. We pretty much determined we weren't seeing any other people after the 2nd or 3rd date, then I told him we can be exclusive after he asked and I thought about it. Go at your pace and if he pushes, he is hiding something and making it hard for you refuse knowing you could lose him to another woman.

To me, it's not being selfish, I wouldn't have a problem paying sometimes, it's just that I prefer letting the man take the lead. My experience has been that most guys prefer being 'in charge' of the date, and I feel like offering to pay would make them feel a bit inadequate and less 'manly'.
